Joseph A. Herman, Jr., Senior Consultant

Joseph A. Herman, Jr., is a Senior Consultant with American Business Development Group, an internationally respected, full spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as one of the largest business development firms in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces.

Mr. Herman has extensive experience in the defense automotive field; for the past eight years he has worked at the U.S. Army Research and Engineering Command (TARDEC). During his time at TARDEC he held several leadership positions, such as Lead Configuration Manager and MRAP Configuration Management Lead.

Before working at TARDEC, Mr. Herman spent 20 years working at the U.S. Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) working in positions from engineer to Systems Acquisitions Manager. Mr. Herman was Senior Project Engineer for the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) and then held the same position for several tactical trailers.

During Mr. Herman’s career at TACOM and TARDEC he worked with programs like the MRAP, Buffalo, JERRV/COUGAR, MMPV, RG-31, Watercraft and the FMTV.

Mr. Herman attended Wayne State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
