Laurin Groover Senior Consultant

Laurin Groover is a Senior Consultant with American Business Development Group, an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces.

Prior to joining ABDG, Ms. Groover served as Legislative Director and Military Legislative Assistant to Congressman Joe Wilson (SC). She was the principal advisor on legislation and policy. She handled the Congressman’s House Armed Services Committee assignment and managed his priority project requests in both the authorization and appropriations processes. This included extensive work with all sectors of the defense community on a wide array of issues such as terrorism, homeland security, and equipping our men and women in uniform.

Ms. Groover’s legislative experience began in the office of Congressman Floyd Spence (SC), who was then Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Laurin served as Senior Legislative Assistant, specializing in issues involving domestic security, emergency preparedness, and transportation.

She first came to Washington, DC as a Page to Senator Strom Thurmond.

Ms. Groover received a BA in American Studies from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and a JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is a former president of the South Carolina State Society and past chairman of the South Carolina Presidential Inaugural Ball Committee. She is a recipient of the Palmetto Patriot Award and is a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Ms. Groover is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the American Bar Association.
