Scott Thurber Senior Consultant

Scott Thurber is a Senior Consultant for the American Business Development Group, an internationally respected, full-spectrum business development consulting firm, now representing a diverse list of over fifty prominent U.S. and international businesses. American Business Development Group enjoys a reputation as the largest business development firm in the United States which specializes in the re-equipping and modernization of the United States Armed Forces.

Mr. Thurber has 30 years of experience in the energy, technology and defense markets. Mr. Thurber’s functional expertise lies in program management, product development, sales and marketing (domestic and international) and business development. Mr. Thurber brings to clients a unique combination of sales and marketing best practices, technology management and Federal acquisition experience. He provides clients with a comprehensive approach for growing profitable sales to the Federal Government and global customers.

Mr. Thurber’s experience was developed at four companies over 30 years. As a Senior Consultant at SAIC, Mr. Thurber supported strategic planning and technology diversification for the US Navy at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. Mr. Thurber also led e-diagnostics marketing as the Director of Marketing at Helix Technology, the leading cryogenic component tool supplier to the semi-conductor industry. During his 21 year tenure at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 250 multinational gas and equipment company, Mr. Thurber was responsible for product management, product development, international sales and business management of a wide range of process gas systems and on-site services. Most recently, in 2005 Mr. Thurber founded Advantech Business Builders, Inc., helping businesses grow sales to the Federal Government, prime contractors and international customers by providing project management, strategic planning, marketing and business development guidance. Mr. Thurber began his association with ABDG in 2008.

Mr. Thurber earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University, a MBA from Lehigh University, and holds a Professional Engineering license. Mr. Thurber has also completed the “Systems Engineering Fundamentals” course designed by DAU. He currently resides in East Greenwich, Rhode Island with his wife, daughter and son.
