American Business Development Group selected for its Transatlantic Trade Expertise for German Industry and Trade Conference

Arlington, VA, November 10, 2009

Working with the prestigious German Association of Electronics and Electrical Industries (ZVEI), American Business Development Group (ABDG) co-hosted an International Trade Conference on October 13, 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany.

The goal of the seminar was to assist German companies in evaluating their options for entering or expanding their capabilities within the U.S. Department of Defense and Homeland Security markets. ABDG’s International Sector Director, Ambassador (R) Edward O’Donnell, invited speakers from DOD, DHS and DOE who discussed specific programs and gave examples of German firms, and in many cases their American partners, that are currently offering their services and products to the US Government. Ambassador O’Donnell received support from the U.S. Embassy in Germany as well as the Council of American States.

Michael Angerbauer, the Director of ZVEI said “Ambassador O’Donnell organized five U.S. experts for the German participating companies that highlighted business opportunities with both the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.” Mr. Angerbauer continued, “this conference has generated considerable interest by ZVEI members in the U.S. Government market. In fact, our Defense Technology and Security Systems departments want to continue cooperation to do business with ABDG and its U.S. partners.”

Michael Ziesemer, CEO of Endress & Hauser, a leading supplier of measuring instruments and automation solutions who currently attributes 14% of their worldwide revenue to the United States market said “this trade colloquium is an outstanding opportunity to acquire information about and to make contacts into the U.S. market.”

Bill Skipper, President and CEO of ABDG said “this conference was a success as a result of the relationships ABDG has developed over the past 12 years with clients and employees in Europe and Ambassador O’Donnell’s network of influence developed during his 31 years as a senior career diplomat with the State Department. ABDG has been successful in representing German, French, UK and Belgium firms here in the U.S. to DOD and teaming them with US companies in different integration and subcontracting opportunities.”

ABDG will be organizing several similar events in Europe to develop ties to high-quality firms with products and services for the U.S. market. ABDG has been contracted by the French defense industry trade fair “Eurosatory”, and in June 2010 will be providing advice, counsel and assistance to participating European firms on how to enter the U.S. market. If your firm is interested in possibly partnering with successful European firms for purposes of selling in the NAFTA market and to the U.S. Government, please contact ABDG’s Business Development Director Mike Bennis.
